A New Beginning in the Lord
π§π§π§π§ Devotionals for Church Family
π Main Verse:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” — Isaiah 43:18–19
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
-
Old Testament: Genesis 1–2
-
New Testament: Matthew 8
π‘ Devotional Thought:
The new year opens with God’s reminder that He specializes in new beginnings. While the past may carry lessons, regrets, or victories, God calls us forward—not backward. Creation itself began with His word, and today He still creates new hope, new faith, and new direction in our lives. As we step into a fresh year, we are invited to trust Him for renewal and transformation.
π Application:
-
Council & Pastoral: Lead the church with renewed vision and faith.
-
Men & Ladies: Entrust the new year’s plans and responsibilities to God.
-
Youth & Children: Believe God can help you grow and learn new things this year.
π€ Reflection:
What past burden do I need to release to embrace God’s new work?
π Take Away:
God’s new work begins when we let go of the old.
π Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of a new year. We release the past into Your hands and welcome the new work You desire to do in us. Renew our faith, guide our steps, and help our church family walk confidently with You. Amen.
