An Anchor for the Soul π§π§π§π§
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” — Hebrews 6:19
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
Old Testament: Nehemiah 10–11
New Testament: Hebrews 7
π‘ Devotional Thought:
Nehemiah 10–11 shows God's people renewing their commitment and establishing their lives around God's covenant.
Hebrews 7 points to Jesus as our eternal High Priest. Because He intercedes for us, our hope remains secure no matter what happens around us.
A steadfast church anchors itself in Christ.
π Application:
Council & Pastoral: Point people continually to Christ.
Men & Ladies: Hold firmly to God's promises.
Youth & Children: Trust Jesus when life feels uncertain.
π€ Reflection:
What am I relying on for security?
π Take Away:
Jesus is the anchor of our souls.
π Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being our secure hope. Keep us firmly anchored in Your love and truth. Amen.
