Resting in His Presence
π§π§π§π§ Devotionals for Church Family
π Main Verse:
“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” — Exodus 33:14
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
-
Old Testament: Jeremiah 52; Lamentations 1–2
-
New Testament: 2 Thessalonians 1
π‘ Devotional Thought:
True rest is found not in ceasing activity alone but in the assurance of God’s presence with us in every task. Moses wanted God’s presence more than a landmark — and God’s presence brought rest. When leaders and families prioritize abiding with God, the rushing slows, perspective returns, and ministry flows from a rested heart rather than performance.
π Application:
-
Council & Pastoral: Lead from a place of rest that flows from God’s presence.
-
Men & Ladies: Build rhythms of Sabbath and daily abiding in your home.
-
Youth & Children: Practice quiet time with God — a little daily rest in His presence builds lifelong faith.
π€ Reflection:
Where am I trying to find rest apart from God’s presence?
π Take Away:
The presence of God is the source of true rest — seek Him first.
π Prayer:
“Lord, walk with us and give us rest. Teach our hearts how to abide in You, even amid busyness. Refresh our leaders, bring peace to our families, and help our children find calm in Your nearness. May our church reflect the serenity of Your presence. Amen.”
