Strength in the Struggle
π§π§π§π§ Devotionals for Church Family
π Main Verse:
“So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak.” — Genesis 32:24
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
-
Old Testament: Jeremiah 43–45
-
New Testament: 1 Thessalonians 3
π‘ Devotional Thought:
Wrestling with God isn’t a failure — it’s an encounter that refines us. Jacob’s night of wrestling produced a new name and a new identity. God sometimes allows struggle to break our self-reliance and deepen our dependence on Him. In that tension we are reshaped, refined, and given the character needed for the next season.
π Application:
-
Council & Pastoral: Bring struggles to God in prayer and model honest faith.
-
Men & Ladies: Don’t hide struggles; let trusted brothers and sisters walk with you.
-
Youth & Children: Learn perseverance and rely on God when things are hard.
π€ Reflection:
Am I resisting God in my struggle or allowing Him to transform me through it?
π Take Away:
Struggles can be God’s workshop — yield to His shaping hands.
π Prayer:
“Heavenly Father, in our wrestling, meet us. Don’t let us walk away unchanged. Give wisdom to leaders, comfort to hurting families, and resilience to our youth and children. Make our struggles a pathway to deeper trust in You. Amen.”
