Strength in God’s Promise
π§π§π§π§ Devotionals for Church Family
π Main Verse:
“Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” — Genesis 15:1
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
-
Old Testament: Jeremiah 34–36
-
New Testament: Colossians 4
π‘ Devotional Thought:
God’s promises are more than warm words — they are secure foundations. When God calls Abram “shield” and “reward,” He reassures us that our ultimate worth and protection come from Him. In seasons of uncertainty we are tempted to seek security in possessions or positions, but God invites us to rest in His faithful promise. It’s in trusting His promise that fear is replaced by courage and hope. Let this truth shape how you lead, parent, work, and live daily.
π Application:
-
Council & Pastoral: Anchor leadership decisions in God’s promises, not public opinion.
-
Men & Ladies: Practice claiming God’s promises for family needs and personal struggles.
-
Youth & Children: Learn that God is your protector and greatest reward — trust Him at school and play.
π€ Reflection:
Which promise of God do I need to cling to today when fear rises?
π Take Away:
God Himself is our shield and reward — more than enough for every need.
π Prayer:
“Faithful God, thank You that You are our shield and reward. When fear comes, remind us who You are and the promises You keep. Strengthen our leaders, guard our families, and reassure our children with the security we have in You. Help us walk boldly, knowing our worth is found in You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
