🌟 Qualities of a Good Usher

  1. Friendly & Approachable – Greets with a genuine smile.

  2. Respectful & Humble – Serves without seeking recognition.

  3. Alert & Observant – Notices needs and responds quickly.

  4. Patient & Calm – Handles disturbances or stress with grace.

  5. Dependable – Arrives early, ready, and consistent.

  6. Spirit-Filled – Serves with prayerful heart and godly character.


✅ Do’s

  • Arrive at least 30 minutes before service.

  • Wear neat and appropriate attire.

  • Pray before and during service.

  • Keep eye contact and smile warmly.

  • Be discreet when guiding or correcting people.

  • Support the pastor, leaders, and worship team.

  • Always maintain order without being harsh.

  • Do not leave your post unnecessarily.

  • Avoid chatting loudly or causing distractions.

  • Never argue with members or visitors.

  • Do not show favoritism (all are equal in Christ).

  • Avoid careless handling of offerings or church items.

  • Seating: Usher families, elderly, and latecomers smoothly.

  • Emergencies: Know exit routes, basic first aid, and emergency contacts.

  • Offerings: Collect with dignity; avoid rushing.

  • Special Services: Coordinate with leaders during weddings, funerals, communion, and altar calls.

  • Hospitality: Always be ready to assist visitors (restrooms, children’s ministry, etc.).
