The Lord Is Our Righteousness π§π§π§π§
“This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.” — Jeremiah 23:6
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
Old Testament: Jeremiah 36–39
New Testament: John 21; Acts 1–2
π‘ Devotional Thought:
Jeremiah points to a righteous King who would bring salvation to God's people. Our righteousness does not come from our achievements or religious reputation. It comes from God.
After His resurrection, Jesus restored Peter and commissioned His disciples to be witnesses. Acts then records the coming of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the church's public witness.
God does not simply save us and leave us without purpose. He restores us and sends us to serve.
π Application:
Council & Pastoral: Lead from the security of Christ's righteousness rather than personal recognition.
Men & Ladies: Let God's grace produce humility and faithful service.
Youth & Children: Remember that Jesus can restore you after mistakes.
π€ Reflection:
Am I depending on God's righteousness or trying to prove my own worth?
π Take Away:
Christ restores us and gives us a purpose.
π Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that our hope and righteousness are found in You. When we fail, remind us that You are able to restore us. Fill us with Your Spirit and make us faithful witnesses in our homes, church, schools, workplaces, and communities. Amen.
