Your Words Are My Joy π§π§π§π§
“When Your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight.” — Jeremiah 15:16
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
Old Testament: Jeremiah 16–19
New Testament: John 10–11
π‘ Devotional Thought:
Jeremiah describes God's Word as something he could receive deeply, like nourishment. God's truth became joy and delight even while Jeremiah faced difficult circumstances.
In John 10, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep and lays down His life for them. In John 11, Jesus demonstrates His power over death through Lazarus.
God's Word brings truth, and Jesus brings life. Together they remind us that our deepest nourishment comes from God.
π Application:
Council & Pastoral: Encourage the church to develop a deeper love for Scripture.
Men & Ladies: Make God's Word part of your daily family life.
Youth & Children: Read Scripture not merely as homework but as God's message to you.
π€ Reflection:
Do I approach God's Word as a source of joy or merely as a responsibility?
π Take Away:
God's Word nourishes the heart and leads us closer to Christ.
π Prayer:
Father, give us a genuine hunger for Your Word. Let Scripture become our joy, wisdom, correction, and encouragement. Help us listen to the voice of our Good Shepherd and follow Him faithfully wherever He leads. Amen.
