Wisdom from Above π§π§π§π§
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault...” — James 1:5
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
Old Testament: Job 8–10
New Testament: James 1
π‘ Devotional Thought:
Job 8–10 records the continuing dialogue between Job and his friends. While they tried to explain suffering through human reasoning, Job honestly poured out his heart before God. Though he did not understand everything happening around him, he continued seeking the Lord. His example reminds us that when life becomes confusing, our greatest need is not merely answers but God's wisdom.
James begins by encouraging believers to ask God for wisdom. God's wisdom is different from human knowledge. It teaches us how to respond to trials with faith, humility, and perseverance. Rather than becoming discouraged by difficult circumstances, we can confidently seek God's direction, knowing He delights in guiding His children.
A wise church is a praying church that seeks God's direction before making decisions.
π Application:
Council & Pastoral: Seek God's wisdom before every ministry decision.
Men & Ladies: Allow God's Word to shape your daily choices.
Youth & Children: Ask God to help you make wise decisions every day.
π€ Reflection:
Am I depending on God's wisdom or relying only on my own understanding?
π Take Away:
God generously gives wisdom to those who sincerely ask.
π Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for promising to give wisdom generously to those who ask. Teach us to depend on You rather than our own understanding. Guide every decision we make as individuals, families, and as a church. Help us honor You with lives marked by wisdom, humility, and obedience. In Jesus' name, Amen.
