Choosing compassion over criticism 👔

Choosing compassion over criticism
👔Devotional for Fathers (Breadwinners & Leaders at Home)

Luke 6:36
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

Reflection

Fathers often correct, teach, and discipline, but correction should always be balanced with compassion. God's discipline is motivated by love, not condemnation.

There will be moments when your spouse or children make mistakes. Your response can either discourage them or help them grow. Mercy does not ignore wrongdoing—it responds with grace while pointing toward restoration.

When compassion becomes part of your leadership, your home becomes a place where truth and love work together.

Reflection Question

Do my family members experience both truth and mercy through my leadership?

💐 Takeaways / Things to Do:

  • Speak gently, even when correction is necessary.
  • Extend forgiveness where it is needed.
  • Reflect God's compassion in your daily interactions.

🙏 Prayer:
Father, help me lead with both truth and mercy. May my words bring healing, encouragement, and wisdom to my family. Amen.
