Our Advocate, Jesus Christ π§π§π§π§
π Main Verse:
“But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.” — 1 John 2:1
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
Old Testament: Psalms 6–9
New Testament: 1 John 2
π‘ Devotional Thought:
David's psalms honestly express sorrow, repentance, fear, and confidence in God. Rather than hiding his struggles, David continually brought them before the Lord, trusting His mercy and forgiveness.
John reminds believers that although we strive to live holy lives, we are not without hope when we fail. Jesus Christ stands as our Advocate before the Father. Through His sacrifice, we receive forgiveness, restoration, and the strength to continue walking faithfully.
A grace-filled church points people to Christ, not condemnation.
π Application:
Council & Pastoral: Lead with both truth and grace.
Men & Ladies: Confess sin quickly and receive God's forgiveness.
Youth & Children: Remember Jesus forgives those who sincerely repent.
π€ Reflection:
Do I run to Jesus when I fail?
π Take Away:
Jesus offers forgiveness and restoration to every repentant heart.
π Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being our Advocate before the Father. Thank You for Your forgiveness and unfailing mercy. Help us quickly repent whenever we fall and continue walking faithfully with You each day. Amen.
