A Heart That Listens 🌱

A Heart That Listens
🌱 Devotional for Youth

Scripture: 1 Samuel 3:10
"The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, 'Samuel! Samuel!' Then Samuel said, 'Speak, for your servant is listening.'"

Devotional Thought:
God still speaks today—not always through an audible voice, but through His Word, the Holy Spirit, wise counsel, and even life's circumstances. The question isn't whether God is speaking; it's whether we are listening. Our world is filled with distractions that compete for our attention, making it difficult to hear His gentle voice. Like young Samuel, we must develop hearts that are willing to pause, listen, and obey. When we listen to God, He directs our steps, strengthens our faith, and reveals His purpose for our lives.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What distractions keep you from listening to God?
  2. How can you spend intentional time hearing His voice each day?

Takeaways:

  • God still speaks to His children.
  • A listening heart is an obedient heart.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me quiet my heart before You. Remove the distractions that keep me from hearing Your voice. Teach me to recognize Your guidance through Your Word and Your Spirit. Give me the courage to obey whatever You ask of me. May my heart always respond, "Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening." In Jesus' name, Amen.
