Choose the Better Portion ๐ŸŒท

Choose the Better Portion
๐ŸŒทWomen’s Devotional

๐Ÿ“– Bible Verse:
Luke 10:42“But few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

๐Ÿ’– Reflection:
Martha was busy serving Jesus while Mary sat at His feet listening. Serving was not wrong, but Jesus gently revealed that Martha had become distracted by many things while Mary had chosen what mattered most.

How easily can we become like Martha? We fill our schedules, manage responsibilities, care for others, serve in ministry, and try to keep everything together. These things may all be good, but good things can sometimes crowd out the best thing—our relationship with Jesus.

God does not want you to live constantly exhausted and distracted. He wants your heart before He wants your activity. Your service should flow from intimacy with Him rather than replace it.

There will always be another task waiting. Another message to answer. Another responsibility to complete. But moments with Jesus are treasures that cannot be replaced.

Choose the better portion today. Sit at His feet. Listen to His Word. Let your soul remember what truly matters.

๐Ÿชž Reflection Questions:

  • What distractions are taking my attention away from Jesus?
  • Am I serving from intimacy with Christ or from exhaustion?

๐Ÿ’ Takeaways / Things to Do:

  • Protect a quiet time with Jesus today.
  • Put away unnecessary distractions during prayer.
  • Ask God to help you prioritize what truly matters.

๐Ÿ™ Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me choose what is better. When life becomes busy and distracting, draw my heart back to Your presence. Teach me to value time with You above the many things competing for my attention. Amen.
