Who Do You Say I Am? π§π§π§π§
π Main Verse:
“But what about you?” He asked. “Who do you say I am?” — Matthew 16:15
π Bible in a Year: Reading for the Day
Old Testament: Proverbs 1–4
New Testament: Matthew 16–17
π‘ Devotional Thought:
Proverbs begins by teaching that true wisdom starts with reverence for the Lord. Human knowledge can increase, but only God can give us wisdom that leads to a meaningful and righteous life. When we know who God is, we begin to understand who we are and how we should live.
In Matthew 16, Jesus asks His disciples a deeply personal question: “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God. This is more than a statement of belief—it is the foundation of our entire Christian life. Knowing Jesus changes our priorities, our decisions, our relationships, and our purpose.
A Christ-centered church begins with a clear understanding of who Jesus truly is.
π Application:
Council & Pastoral: Keep Jesus at the center of every ministry and decision.
Men & Ladies: Let your identity and priorities be shaped by Christ.
Youth & Children: Learn who Jesus is and build your life on Him.
π€ Reflection:
Who is Jesus to me personally, and does my life show it?
π Take Away:
Knowing who Jesus is changes everything about how we live.
π Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. Help us know You more deeply and follow You more faithfully. Let our understanding of who You are transform our priorities, our choices, and our relationships. May our entire church family keep You at the center of everything we do. Amen.
