Courage for the Journey๐ทWomen’s Devotional
Joshua 1:9 — “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
๐ Reflection:
Courage does not mean that you never feel afraid. Courage means choosing to move forward because you know Who walks beside you.
Joshua was stepping into an enormous responsibility. Moses, the leader who had guided Israel for years, was gone, and Joshua now had to lead God's people into the Promised Land. It would have been natural for him to feel inadequate or afraid. Yet God did not tell Joshua that there would be no difficulties. Instead, He promised His presence.
That same promise speaks to us today. You may be entering a new season, facing an unfamiliar responsibility, making a difficult decision, or stepping into something God has placed on your heart. You may not feel ready. But readiness does not always come before obedience.
God's presence is greater than your uncertainty. When He calls you forward, you can take the next step—not because you know everything that lies ahead, but because you know the One who goes with you.
๐ช Reflection Questions:
- What fear is keeping me from moving forward?
- How does God's promise of His presence change the way I view my situation?
๐ Takeaways / Things to Do:
- Identify one fear and surrender it to God.
- Take one small step toward something God has been prompting you to do.
- Speak Joshua 1:9 over yourself when discouragement comes.
๐ Prayer:
Heavenly Father, give me courage for every journey You place before me. When I feel afraid or inadequate, remind me that Your presence goes with me. Help me move forward with confidence, knowing that I never walk alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.
