Reflection

A father's strength is not only seen in how he provides or protects. It is also seen in how he makes people feel when they are around him.

Philemon was known for refreshing the hearts of others. What a beautiful description of a man! Fathers have countless opportunities to refresh their families through encouraging words, patient listening, thoughtful actions, and genuine affection.

Sometimes the greatest thing your family needs from you is not another solution, but your presence. A tired child may need encouragement. A discouraged spouse may need reassurance. Someone struggling may simply need to know that you are there.

Your home should be one of the places where the people you love feel safe, valued, and refreshed.
