Your Words Can Build 🌱

Your Words Can Build
🌱 Devotional for Youth

Scripture: Ephesians 4:29
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up."

Devotional Thought:
Words are powerful. A single sentence can encourage someone who feels hopeless, but it can also deeply hurt someone who is already struggling. This is especially important in a world where words can be posted, shared, and remembered forever. Before you speak or type something, ask yourself: "Will this build someone up?" Being a Christian doesn't mean you can never correct someone; it means you learn to communicate truth with love and wisdom. Let your conversations become places where people experience encouragement rather than humiliation. Your words can either tear down walls or help build people up.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What kind of words do people usually hear from you?
  2. Is there someone you can encourage today?

Takeaways:

  • Think before you speak or post.
  • Use your words to encourage and build others up.
  • Truth should always be communicated with love.

Prayer:
Lord, place a guard over my mouth and my keyboard. Help me think before I speak, comment, or post. Remove words that are hurtful, careless, or destructive from my conversations. Give me wisdom to speak truth with love and use my words to encourage, comfort, and strengthen the people around me. May everything I say reflect Your heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.
